Event Overview

The 23rd College Student Culture and Art Festival of Shunde Vocational and Technical College will be held from March to June 2024. The 2024 "Weber Cup" Short Video Creation Competition, as an important sub project of the College Student Culture and Art Festival, is jointly organized by Shunde Vocational and Technical College and Guangdong Weber Group. This competition aims to stimulate students' creativity, cultivate their innovative thinking and practical abilities, and promote the improvement of college students' cultural literacy by leveraging the trend of content creation on short video platforms.

Purpose and significance of the activity
The aim of this competition is to encourage participants to discover the application of intelligent manufacturing technology in daily life through short videos, demonstrating how Weber Electric brings convenience and comfort to people. This competition not only cultivates students' ability to express themselves multiple times and spread information from multiple perspectives, but also helps Guangdong Weber Group discover more young and ambitious talents, promote healthy lifestyles to more people, and improve people's health awareness and quality of life.

This event will be divided into two stages: online preliminary display and offline final evaluation. Participants can participate in short videos to fully explore the content and present the theme from multiple perspectives and levels.




Activity Outline

(1) Submission method for participation

Contestants scan the code to fill out the competition form for pre naming. After completing the creation of their entries, they will name their work "Second level College+Name+Work Name+Contact Information" and send it to the official email of the competition 2633292708@qq.com It is considered a successful registration.

(2) Competition solicitation content

(1) The entries must comply with the socialist core values, laws and regulations, and platform publishing requirements, with positive and healthy content, and be created around the theme of "Smart Life, Accompanied by Weber". Creative content can refer to "Weber for a Better Life", "Weber Water Heater", "Weber New Beauty Kitchen" and other content.。

(2) The competition requires the appearance of obvious "Weber" series products (optional Weber electric water heater V5M, Q2; Weber range hood Q37, Weber gas stove B28 models, a total of 4 products), and creation based on product characteristics and selling points.

(3) The entries encourage innovation and originality, and there are no restrictions on filming and creative techniques. They can adopt styles such as nostalgia, humor, and product evaluation, as well as various short video types such as stop motion animation, 3D animation, and film and television special effects.



(3) Product shooting guide

(1) Before April 20th, participants who have completed pre registration will be arranged to visit Guangdong Weber Group's global advanced intelligent manufacturing factory and the world's second largest electric water heater manufacturing base, to further understand the production line and product related content, and to take on-site photos of the required materials.

(The visit time to the factory needs to be confirmed after communication with the factory, and the exact time will be notified in the official event group of the competition.)

(2) Starting from March 27th, the official designated "Weber" series product prototypes for the competition will be exhibited in the Information Center Annex Building 3-B-205. Contestants can visit the designated Weber product display area or take photos of the required materials.

(4) Requirements for Participating Videos

(1) The entries must be controlled within 90 seconds. The picture should be clear and coherent, and the content should be accompanied by subtitles, without obvious background noise, highlighting visual beauty and creative style without limitation. Can be accompanied by background music, voice over, commentary, etc.

(2) The file format of the entries should be MP4 format. Videos are generally compressed within 200M.

(3) The entries must not contain any commercial information such as logos or watermarks. If using someone else's portrait or photo elements, the source must be properly indicated and authorization from the owner must be obtained. Any work suspected of plagiarism or infringement of others' intellectual property rights will naturally lose its eligibility to participate, and the author shall bear corresponding legal responsibilities.

(5) Work review rules

(1) Preliminaries: The submission and data statistics of entries will be closed on May 15. The data team of the competition will rank the official platforms of the competition (Tiktok, WeChat video number) as the "hottest". First, the review team of the competition will review the data of the entries for cheating, and summarize the data of multiple platforms. The top 41 who meet the requirements of the competition will enter the final, and contact the staff by phone to confirm the qualification of the final.

(2) Finals: The final selection by the competition judging panel will be based on three aspects: video quality, video dissemination, and marketing empowerment attributes. The winning works of the competition will be determined by the final scores on site and awarded on-site.

(3) Scoring criteria:

① Content creativity (out of 30 points): Whether the content of a short video is creative, novel, and interesting, and whether it can attract the audience's attention. When rating, one can consider the originality, uniqueness, and ability to resonate with the idea.

② Video production quality (out of 30 points): The quality of short video production, including image clarity, smooth editing, sound effects, and music. When rating, attention can be paid to the technical level and professionalism of the video, as well as whether it can bring a good viewing experience to the audience.

③ Theme conformity (out of 30 points): Whether the short video meets the competition theme or requirements, whether there are obvious Weber products, and whether it can accurately convey the theme spirit. When rating, you can pay attention to whether the short video is closely related to the theme and whether it can resonate with the audience on the theme.

④ Audience engagement (out of 10 points): The degree of interaction of a short video among the audience, including likes, comments, shares, and other data. When rating, attention can be paid to the audience's participation and feedback, as well as whether the short video can resonate emotionally with the audience.



(6) Copyright ownership of the work

According to relevant national laws and regulations, any "participant" or "author" who voluntarily submits a work, the organizer believes that they have made the following irrevocable statement regarding the copyright ownership of the submitted work:

(1) Original statement. Participants must declare that their entries are original works and do not infringe upon any patents, copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of others;

(2) The copyright of the entries belongs to the participants, and the organizer has the permanent right to use the winning works without paying any fees other than the agreed prize money; For the entries, if the organizers have further intentions to cooperate, both parties will negotiate and sign a copyright cooperation agreement separately.

(3) The competition jury (organizer, organizer) has the right to all entries, including but not limited to copying, editing, displaying, and promoting them.

(4) All participants who submit their works are deemed to agree to the above terms. The organizer has the right to adjust the relevant matters of the competition according to the actual situation, and the final interpretation of the competition belongs to the organizer.

(5) Participants do not need to pay any registration fees or other fees. The organizer does not entrust any institutions or individuals to organize any paid services related to the competition.

(6) Plagiarism and appropriation of others' research, written or other creative achievements are strictly prohibited, and plagiarists bear legal and moral responsibilities. For plagiarism, the organizing committee will take corresponding measures, including but not limited to revoking the eligibility to participate, publicly disclosing plagiarism, and pursuing legal responsibility. We hope that participants will consciously abide by the creative norms and jointly maintain an environment of integrity and fair competition.

(7) Participating teams can supervise each other, and if any violations are found by a participating team, they can be recorded or screenshot as evidence for preservation.
